OZMATCH, supporting men who want to meet Japanese women, held a gathering for international couples on 7 April 2024 at the cafe in Brisbane QLD.
We welcomed five happy couples who met at OZMATCH service and one of the couples joined from Gold Coast.
Three of the couples, I meet once a month at online meet-ups, so I know them well and the couples are familiar with each other.
Two of the couples, I had met online few times, but this was the first time for me to meet them face to face. They had also never met other couples before and were nervous at first.
What these five couples had in common was that the men were Australian, interested in Japanese culture and wanted to meet Japanese women.

Four couples of Five, they met when the border was closed at the COVID 19. Yet, it took less than a month from the first date to a serious relationship.
One couple, they met at the end of last November, a month later Yoshiko came to Australia to meet David and since March this year she has been with him, taking her daughter with her.
They had felt hopeless on online dating sites, but with OZATCH they were able to find their ideal Japanese partner within a few months to a year.

Over a delicious lunch, the couples told me about their lives now and their plans for the future.
Some of the Japanese women who participated in the gathering in Brisbane are going to school to look for work in Australia. Some women worked in Japanese restaurants to earn money for school fees. Some women are working in child care after gaining qualifications.
Japanese women who moved to Australia to live with their Australian partner, are trying to put down roots and live in a new land. And their Australian partner support these women.
The three and a half hours I spent with the five couples made me realise why I continue to work with OZMATCH, an international matchmaking agency.
