Do you cook for yourself?
Till I moved to Australia, I didn’t know that men could cook. My grandfather never cooked, my father never cooked and my brother-in-law never cooked. My brother can cook fried eggs, maybe… I hope.
I started cooking regularly since I was in junior highschool because my parents were always busy and I wanted to do something for them.
Am I good at cooking? Well, you should ask my husband.
I have a Japanese girlfriend in Cairns. She is very good at cooking, super good.
A few years ago, she came to Brisbane and stayed with us for a few days. That time was heaven for me and my husband. She cooked a Japanese breakfast, Japanese lunch and Japanese dinner everyday.
We told her we thought her partner was very lucky to have her (He is Australian.) Then she said he didn’t eat any Asian food including Japanese food. We shouted “WHAT!!!!” “Is he crazy??”
If I were man, I definitely would have married her.
Tonight I cooked a saute dish with eggplant and chicken for dinner. It was ok but It didn’t have much flavour. So I said to my husband “Honey, it might be better to put some mayonnaise on it” He said “Yeah, Kewpie mayonnaise will fix everything” He was joking and I was serious. 🙂
Do you like Japanese food? ( I guess so.) Do you have kewpie mayonnaise in your fridge? If not, I don’t think you are a Japanese food lover.
Go to Coles or Woolworth this weekend and get some. Because Japanese mayonnaise is the best ! 🙂
