International Matchmaking Agencies – How do you know they are not a scam ?

What concerns single men have about Japanese matchmaking agencies before they join

OZMATCH, a Japanese matchmaking agency based in Australia, has two websites. One for Australian male members and the other is for Japanese female members.

The Japanese website was renewed four months ago. I am very happy with it and now we are renewing the English website.

To enhance our FAQ section on the English website, we have been asking our Australian male members and former male members what concerns they had about OZMATCH before they joined.

One of our Australian executive male members listed 9 concerns below:

1. What if this matchmaking agency is a scam? 
2. Are all Japanese women real? What if they are part time employees? 
3. How many Japanese women are available to meet?
4. How many Japanese women can I meet in a month?
5. When can I meet Japanese women in person?
6. Is there any language issue to have conversations with them ?
7. I’ve never had a long distance relationship. Isn’t it difficult ?
8. Would it be possible to meet the right person?
9. Is it worth it to invest my time and money?

I was kind of shocked to read question No.2, “Are all Japanese women real? What if they are part time employees? “ 

I have never thought about hiring Japanese women to make it look like we have a lot of Japanese female members. 

And that gave me an idea ‘If we don’t have enough Japanese female members, we could hire some’ .. just joking. 

But some other matchmaking agencies must be hiring members, otherwise, no one would have come up with this idea. Right?

Does your Japanese matchmaking agency treat you like family?

The man who wrote to us about these nine concerns is now an OZMATCH executive member and he said that I am someone like his mum. 

That is very sweet of him but I asked him to think of me as his sister.  I think I am too young to be someone’s mum.  …just joking again.

This is what he think now.

“I will meet my life partner soon at OZMATCH, where they treat me like family.“

When I had a consultation with Misao-san, I was really impressed by how kind and helpful she was. During the consultation, she gave me sincere advice on my worries and difficulties, just like a big sister, and I really appreciated that.

She is very quick to respond and takes care of her members with a sense of responsibility.

I haven’t found my life partner yet, but I have no doubt that I will meet my life partner soon at OZMATCH, where they treat me like family.

The Japanese ladies I met convinced me they are genuine

When Tom told me about OZMATCH, it never occurred to me that it was a scam. The reason is that Tom had joined and that was proof that OZMATCH was for real.
Also, during an online speed dating event, the Japanese ladies I met convinced me they are genuine and of course, real people, especially as some participants had sound problems. You (Misao) and your husband also convinced me you were real.
OZMATCH didn’t make unrealistic promises and after receiving a video from Hiromi, which was unusual at the time, I knew it was all legit. Also Japan is considered an honest country overall by Australians.
Unfortunately there are so many scams out there that people are wary. In order to prove that OZMATCH is a genuine place to meet Japanese women, perhaps I could attend an OZMATCH online speed dating event and talk to some Australian men who are considering meeting a Japanese partner.

Garry and Hiromi are organizing a lunch for Brisbane couples who met their partner at OZMATCH.

We had a lunch party at the Botanic Garden Cafe in April and it was lovely. They all are international couples, Australian and Japanese, former OZMATCH members.

Everyone had a wonderful time and we are very excited to catch up again in June. 

One of our executive male members in Perth is coming to Brisbane to have the lunch with us. He is going to stay at my place.  We treat our members like family. 🙂

Do you still think that OZMATCH, Misao, and our Japanese female members are not real?
