”Do your Japanese women prefer Western men to Asian men?”
This is a question often asked by men from Asia or Australian-born men with Asian parents.
They want to meet a nice Japanese woman and marry a Japanese woman. But they worry that Japanese women may not be interested in Asian men.
One of our Japanese male members said to me that he had been searching for a Japanese partner in Australia but he felt that he, as a Japanese man, didn’t stand a chance.
Do Japanese women prefer Western men to Asian men?
The answer is YES. ( sorry…)
About 90％ of Japanese women who join OZMATCH say they would like to meet Western men if possible.
But that doesn’t mean Asian men should think that there is no chance to meet Japanese women
Some Japanese women need to know how nice Asian men are
Some Japanese women need education to find the right partner.
Well, ‘education’ may be a bit of an exaggeration.
Let’s change it to ‘advice’ or advice by a wise old woman (that’s me).
One of my roles as an international matchmaking advisor is to understand each member and introduce them to the person I think would be the best match for them.
In addition to that, I also give lots of advice to Japanese women. I have never forced them to follow my advice but they know that my advice often is helpful in finding the right partner.
One of my pieces of advice is to be open to meeting Asian men.
Advantages of Japanese women marrying Asian men in Western countries
Asian men living in the West know how hard it is to live in a foreign country
It is not easy for a person born and raised in Asia to communicate, negotiate, and make friends in a Western country using a second language.
I am Japanese. I moved to Australia 19 years ago.
I often had to work twice or three times harder than the locals to achieve the same results as they do, whether studying or working.
Quite exhausted.
I married an Australian man and have never regretted it. He is love of my life and he is the most nicest, kindest and funnies men I have ever met.
But because my English was very poor, during the first few years of our marriage I wished a few times that he could understand how exhausting it can be to live in a second language 24 hours a day.
Our Japanese female members will be passing through the same path that I have taken.
So I often say this to our Japanese female members.
Asian men who immigrate here in Australia have already gone through what you are about to go through.
They would be the best supporters who understand your feelings and pain.
Asian men take very good care of their wives
I don’t know if all Asian men are kind to their wives.
However, all of my Japanese girl friends who married Asian men in Australia are very dear to their husbands.
Before I started OZMATCH, an international marriage agency, I ran a beauty salon in Brisbane.
Because I offered facial treatments using Japanese techniques that could not be experienced in Australia, 90% of my clients were Japanese wives living in Brisbane, Sunshine Coast and Gold Coast.
Most of the Japanese wives drove themselves to my salon, but only the Japanese wives married to Asian men were picked up and dropped off by their husbands every weekend.
I was very impressed by them. Also, Japanese wives who married Asian men sounded and looked very happy with their marriage.
Japanese women in Japan do not know this at all. So they assume that Western men are kinder.
I have lived in Australia for 19 years and I know that Western men are very gentle and take good care of their wives too.
So I am not talking about which men are better.
I am just giving advice to Japanese women who are not considering Asian men.
