This blog is for someone who wants to know how to find their ideal Japanese woman. If you haven’t met your ideal Japanese woman yet, this blog may help.
What is Japanese New Year Culture, Hatsumode (初詣)?
At the start of a new year, many people in Japan visit shrines or temples.
This is an important annual event known as Hatsumode.
Hatsumode literally means “the first (hatsu 初) shrine visit (mode 詣で)”
Hatsumode is a popular New Year’s event regardless of religion or belief in Japan. People visit shrines and temples out of gratitude for their health and happiness in the past year and to pray for a good new year.
Many people make their first pilgrimage before dawn.

Many shrines and temples hold Hatsumode events during the first few days of the new year, especially on January 1st.
Popular shrines and temples offer a festive atmosphere with stalls and many people praying at the main shrine, buying amulets for good luck in the new year and disposing of last year’s amulets
Why are Japanese women frequenting shrines and temples?
Shrines and temples are often thought of as places where the elderly go, or where Shintoism and Buddhism are practised. But in recent years, visiting shrines and temples has become popular among young Japanese women.

Are they Shintoists?
No, they are not.
Are they Buddhist?
Maybe not.
They use the latest apps, but on the other hand they also do something very traditional Japanese, such as visiting shrines and temples. There are many articles circulating, such as a ranking of shrines and temples that fulfil women’s wishes.
What do Japanese women wish for?
To have a successful relationship, to find a marriage partner, to be blessed with a child, etc.
Japanese women want to believe that shrines bring good men, good marriages, good luck
Until I was 40, I thought that shrines were places to make a wish, I thought shrines were places to pay a small coin and make a big wish.
So when I was single, I went to the nearest shrine and prayed that I would meet a nice man.

In reality, though, it did not happen.
One day, however, after listening to an online lecture by Saito Hitori, who was ranked number one in Japan’s wealth ranking, I learnt that shrines are places where people go to thank the universe for their health and happiness, not to make wishes or ask for something.
Saito Hitori is like Jack Ma, very rich, very wise.
The difference with Jack Ma is that Mr.Saito never reveals his face. He is very famous in Japan, but if you were to sit next to him at Starbucks in Japan, you wouldn’t recognise him. I am a big fan of his but I wouldn’t recognise him either.
Anyway, some Japanese people go to shrines to make requests/wishes. And single Japanese women also go to shrines to make requests/wishes too. Just like I did when I was single.
Japanese women like the Japanese fortune-paper called OMIKUJI at shrines
An Omikuji is a piece of paper with the result of fortune-telling written on it.

On the Omikuji result sheet, you will see a word such as Daikichi or Daikyo which indicates your overall luck.
“Dai-Kichi (大吉)” means great blessing, “Kichi (吉)” is a blessing, and “Dai-Kyo (大凶)” means great misfortune.
It is common to tie Omikuji to the branch or fence when drawing an Omikuji with bad luck, and people tend to put it in their wallets when it is good luck.

Single Japanese women go to Hatsumode and draw a fortune-paper called Omikuji. If they get a big fortune ‘Daikichi’, they hope that this is the year they will meet a good man.
Me?
I went to Hatsumode but never drew a fortune-paper/Omikuji. If I got a bad one, it would have ruined the start of the year.
How to always draw great luck in life
It must be a bad feeling to draw bad luck in the New Year. If there’s a way to draw Daikichi (great luck) all the time, I am sure people would want to know it.
Well, then I will teach you how to draw ‘Daikichi (good luck)’ all the time.

Keep drawing Omikuji (fortune-paper) until you get ‘Daikichi (a great fortune)’.
There is no rule that says you can only draw a fortune-paper once. Right?
How to always draw great luck in love, with Japanese women
Finding an ideal partner is the same.
Keep meeting women until you get the great one.
Don’t give up after only a few first dates or OMIAI (a Japanese traditional first date).
I met more than 100 Australian single men while I
was studying in Australia.
Was I tired?
Not at all. Because I knew that finding a partner is a numbers game.
I wanted to draw ‘Daikichi – Partner’ and I think I did!

If you draw great luck in finding a Japanese partner, that luck will last for years. It may even be eternal.
By the way, are there any shrines where it is easy to get great luck?
It depends on what you want to have great luck about.
