Popular male age groups for Japanese single women in Japan
The most popular age group for Japanese men among Japanese women is 30-34 years old. Japanese men are not very popular in their 20s because their income is still low and their jobs are not stable.
Japanese men in their early 30s, however, are more attractive to Japanese women because their annual income has reached the average income level and they have more social experience.
This is the average annual income of Japanese men.
This gives a good indication of which age is more popular with women: Japanese men in their early 20s or Japanese men in their late 30s.
Popular female age groups for Japanese single men in Japan
On the other hand, the age range of Japanese women who are popular with Japanese men is 25-29.
Considering the suitable age for childbearing, many Japanese men prefer to marry Japanese women up to their early 30s, making Japanese women in their 20s more popular.
It is understandable that men who want to have children want women in their 20s and early 30s.
However, in Japan, the preference for younger women, regardless of whether Japanese men want children or not, seems to be particularly pronounced compared to other countries.
This leaves Japanese single women in their late 30s, who have worked hard academically and built up their professional experience and achievements, feeling very empty because Japanese men are not choosing them as a marriage partner.

What is the optimum age to search for a partner?
There is no optimum age for searching for a partner. Popular age groups in Japan are 30-34 for Japanese men and 25-29 for Japanese women, but you don’t have to stick to these ages at all.
Rather than thinking, “It’s too early to search for a marriage partner in my twenties” or “It’s too late to search for a marriage partner in my fifties”, I suggest you take action first.
